The Felt Sense
Your original awareness
“Experience is, for me, the highest authority. The touchstone of validity is my own experience. No other person’s ideas and none of my own ideas are as authoritative as my experience. It is to experience that I must return again and again, to discover a closer approximation to truth as it is in the process of becoming in me.”
READ THIS BEFORE YOU PRACTICE…
When we enter the body, sink into the felt sense of sensations in our tissues, bones, fluids, there can be suppressed or forgotten memories, experiences, emotions that arise. So please take extra care if you know or suspect that there are unmetabolized or unintegrated traumatic experiences.
When it comes to the body to do less, go slow, and find a pace that feels nurturing is far more sustainable than fast and intense.
If at any point during the practice it feels too much, too fast, too soon pause the practice and navigate towards safety, comfort, connection.
You can return to the practice again when you feel ready.
A lot of the work I do, in private sessions and group settings, is to support you to start to sense your own readiness.
